Gilster dissects Internet tools like WAIS, gopher, and MOSAIC like a knowledgeable surgeon, providing excellent examples and understandable descriptions along the way. Finding It is a logical next step from an overview like Internet Navigator. In crisp detail, its ten chapters cover archie, gopher, Veronica, WAIS, World-Wide Web (and MOSAIC), HYTELNET, whois, and E-mail. Although one could argue that the future of the Internet depends on the Clearinghouse for Networked Information Discovery and Research (CNIDR)-the topic of the last chapter-Gilster certainly has a talent for explaining the Internet well. Lots of examples make this book enjoyable; turn one page and you'll find a Thai recipe, turn another and you'll discover a weather map. If you're dazed by Internet tools, this is your best relief.
