Readers proceed from a quick survey of HTML basics in the first chapter to a collection of six actual examples of complex sites in the last. HTML elements, Uniform Resource Locators (URLs), CGI and the HTTP protocol, HTML editors, Web browsers, and HTTP servers are all treated in turn. There are abundant pointers to Internet-based resources to use in conjunction with examples and explanations. Graham maintains a simple philosophy throughout: keep your home page small, concise, and unburdened with enormous files (graphics and others).
