- The Core provides the fundamental concepts and principles that all students need to prepare them for the various degree programs for which general chemistry is a prerequisite. It contains all fundamental concepts found in traditional texts without the distraction of additional material. The authors develop core concepts using concrete models, then illustrate them with practical applications relevant to students’ experience.
- The Modules present stand-alone chapters that can be added to customize the course to fit the needs and interests of the students being served. The chapter appendices extend the core material, and the stand-alone chapters introduce new topics, such as biochemistry, polymer chemistry, nuclear chemistry, and more.
- New models of chemical concepts not yet found in traditional texts introduce many chapters.
