Synopsis

As computers came of age in engineering, pedagogical techniques had to adapt with subjects like interpolation and matrices requiring less consideration. The authors appeal to the student's geometrical intuition for motivation and understanding. They then prove the central results analytically and make the ideas concrete by application to numerical examples and case studies. There are more than 300 exercises in the back of the book.
