Containing over 1,000 designs selected by well-known decoupeurs and craft editor Eleanor Rawlings, this book presents the most attractive and usable illustrations from a handsome and extremely rare 1923 Syracuse catalog of designs. This material is almost impossible to find in any other sources.
Included are designs in various styles, including Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Chippendale, Louis XIV, and Victorian. Illustrations include borders, corners, garlands, cartouches, swags, cornucopias, flower sprays, ribbons and bows, urns, latticework, and more.
This book is especially planned for decoupeurs. All the designs are printed on one side of a page only. Many appear in several different sizes and in mirror images so that entire projects may be done without photocopying. There are also complete instructions for decoupage materials, coloring, gluing, finishing, sanding, and other details. The paper is lightweight so designs are easy to varnish.
These motifs may also be used for spot illustrations, stationery, book designs, collage, and as sources for leather and needlework projects.
