About the Author
Novelist, poet, and travel writer, Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) wrote captivating tales for readers of all ages, including Treasure Island, Kidnapped, and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

In Stevenson's home town of Edinburgh, stealing corpses for sale to medical students became so prevalent that the city built high walls and even guard towers around cemeteries to keep the living citizens out and the dead in, so his story is based on truth.
