She received her M.S. and Ph.D. in cognitive/experimental psychology from the University of Florida. Her research interests include human reasoning and the teaching of psychology, and she has published numerous articles in both areas. She is also the author of RESEARCH METHODS & STATISTICS: A CRITICAL THINKING APPROACH, 5th Edition (Wadsworth/Cengage, 2016), RESEARCH METHODS: A MODULAR APPROACH, 3rd Edition (Wadsworth/Cengage, 2015) and A CONCISE GUIDE TO STATISTICAL ANALYSES USING EXCEL, SPSS, AND THE TI-84 CALCULATOR (Cengage, 2013).
"The major strength of the text is the ease of comprehension of the text which is important for our general track students taking the one semester statistics and research course. In general, each of the chapters is broken into subsections which may reduce the anxiety factor that many of our general track students experience."
"The writing style is very good and the connections between chapters is well done. The introductory remarks before each chapter do a fine job of tying information from previous chapters to the current chapter."
"The author has done an excellent job of presenting rather difficult material at a level undergraduate psychology students can understand. Many of the competing texts of this type give short shift to difficult statistical issues, it is refreshing to see coverage of statistics done so well."
"I would definitely conclude from what I have read to this point that the critical thinking approach the author has chosen to use is a smash success."
