Was it a major religious and heroic time for Christians to reclaim the holy land from the infidels, or was it a mere folly of great aristocrats to try and crave out new lands for themselves in the golden east? What effects did the crusades have on Europe? To conclude the rise of Christian Europe is a book bringing the reader through the stages of European history in all its glory and ill fortunes.
