Three years ago on a hunting trip with his brother in Canada, Jason was bitten by a wolf. Now a werewolf, he is forced to leave his career and family behind as he searches for a way to break the curse. When Tala Soaringbird encounters Jason, she thinks he is a "sica," or bad one, but after Jason defends Tala from two other werewolves, she realizes that he's different. Even though it is forbidden, Tala brings the wounded Jason back to her tribe to heal him and help him learn how to control the changes that the moon brings. Hidden away with a Native American tribe who have kept themselves apart from civilization for centuries, Jason must not only fight his urge to give into the call of the moon, but also his growing attraction for Tala. After first exploring the werewolf romance with Rick Donavon's story "Secret Serenade" in the anthology After Twilight (2001), Thompson returns with another sexy contemporary paranormal flavored with a hint of mysticism.
