About the Author

R. Conrad Stein is the author of more than two hundred books for young readers. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, when he became a fan of both libraries and the Chicago Cubs baseball team. At age eighteen, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served for three years. After his discharge, he attended the University of Illinois where he earned a degree in history.
