Weekend meals for busy families, organized by day and time, from Kids' TV Night as one Friday night choice to a Halftime Spread on Sunday. The uncomplicated recipes--some are suitable for children--are accompanied by sidebars with hints, preparation tips, and various other "tidbits" of information; the book has the feel of a simplified Silver Palate . A few of the recipes are overly familiar or seem old-fashioned, but at least some overworked home cooks will find these well-planned menus just the thing.
