Book Description:
The completely revised third edition of this popular text provides a description of hormones in animals and considers their evolution and roles in coordinating bodily functions such as nutrition, reproduction, and the control of calcium, water and salt levels in the body. Information about the hormones is thoroughly integrated with knowledge of the animals' basic physiology and manner of life.
