Within the fields of education and psychology, the role of discourse in social processes of learning and teaching has emerged as a critical, empirical and theoretical question.Discourse, Learning, and Schooling explores theoretical and methodological relationships between childrens' discourse--or socially used language--and their learning in educational settings. Authors in the volume explore such topics as language use in classroom settings, perspectives on the teaching of writing, literacy learning and teaching among diverse cultural groups.
