Synopsis

As well as providing a detailed chronological narrative of the wars in which Australia has been involved, it discusses the evolution of defense policy in peace and war, and the impact of war and military service on civilian society. About the Author
Jeffrey Grey is a Professor of History in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Australian Defence Force Academy in Canberra.
