About the Author
Anne Isaacs was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, but she has always felt most at home in rural environments, such as the redwood forest near Santa Cruz, California, where she lives with her family. Ms. Isaacs' first book was the highly-acclaimed Swamp Angel (fall 1994), illustrated by Paul O. Zelinsky. Isaacs was voted "Most Promising New Author" by Publisher's Weekly in 1995. Her latest book is Cat Up a Tree, released in September 1998 to immediate high praise.

Emily sat against the treehouse wall and gazed into the restless leaves. "A full moon lights the tower," she whispered. "Now is my chance to signal the prince."
