Shawn trains his dog to perform tricks for show-and-tell at school. After a week of practicing at home, the big day arrives, and Keeper surprises everyone by wreaking havoc in the classroom. Luckily for the uncooperative pup, Shawn knows the importance of friendship and unconditional love. The repetitive text and visual clues will help new readers gain confidence in their skills. The lively illustrations add greatly to the book's charm and are filled with humor. The expressions on the faces of both the humans and pets are appealing as well.
