Van Wormer describes the habits, characteristics and breeding cycles of each species. The last third of the book explains legal measures and attempts by scientists to reestablish the populations of these endangered birds. Researchers requiring specific facts will need to use the index because the information about both species is awkwardly integrated in one continuous text.
