He begins the book with a brief, interesting, and informative geographical and historical overview. The rest of the text flows easily from early settlement to the present-day political, social, and economic situation. The contributions of Luis Munoz Marin and his father, Luis Munoz Rivera, are detailed as are the many congressional acts and laws relating to Puerto Rico's government. While the author concludes with cases for the three options, the real strength here lies in the historical picture it paints of an interesting land and its people.
