I was 18 when I wrote this book for my brother. He was having trouble finishing the books he was required to read during the summer and was getting extremely frustrated. I decided to have him put down the copy of Beowulf his teachers had assigned and read a couple of chapters of the short story I was writing. As the summer progressed, the chapters increased. By the time I finished the story, I had a written a novel.
My brother and several of his friends had become hooked and they were the driving force for me completing the book. Based upon their response and the responses I received from my teachers and peers, I sent the book in to several publishers and the rest is history. Reviewed in Locus, Science Fiction & Fantasy, and mentioned in the New York Times Book Review, I believe this story will captivate readers with it's non-linear approach and well woven sub-plots.From the Back Cover:
Two warriors have just returned from a skirmish between two local lords, when they are accosted by a mysterious cloaked figure who claims to be the the fabled dark wizard, Mentahar--a figure that had haunted their childhood nightmares. Menthar has a quest for the two adventurers: find the two halves of the cube and thus will the age of science replace the dying age of magic, putting an end to the suffering of the people.
A medieval adventure, with a suprisingly modern twist, Quest for the Cube will captivate the most discriminating thrill seekers as they follow the heart-thumping escapades of the two warriors who, as the wizard Menthar points out, have a destiny to fulfill.
