Review

"This book represents all the basics a student new to the Human Services field needs. It serves as a foundation for learning to be a Human Service worker or anyone in the helping fields. It's a handbook for helping at any educational level of training and is written with the student in mind. It is readable and involves the students by using real-life examples and illustrations of the primary ideas and concepts."

"This book contains an excellent breadth of introduction to many theoretical topics in the helping professions from ethics to families to multiculturalism. . . . It is an excellent book that raises key questions for the trainee. The authors clearly have an interest in providing the best possible training for future helping professionals and the best qualified trainees for our students' future clients in mind as they continue to refine this already excellent text."
