Synopsis
Dershem and Jipping present programming language theory in the context of a language model (paradigm) and one or more example languages for each of the five important paradigms presented in the text. Dershem and Jipping teach the basic principles of programming languages so that students can effectively use current and future languages. Formal paradigms provide a bridge between programming language theory and the abundance of actual languages used as models throughout the text. The book is structured to allow for a variety of course organizations and emphases.
