About the Author:
Dr. Barbara W. Farmer is Principal of Houserville/Lemont Elementary Schools in the State College Area School District, State College, PA. Dr. Farmer is also the host of 'What Matters" for WPSU/WPSX radio in PA. She is a former Business Education teacher in Hampton, Virginia, and Raleigh, North Carolina. She earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and a Master's degree in Administration/Supervision from North Carolina A & T State University.

Dr. Edgar I. Farmer, Professor of Workforce Education and Development (WFED), is Department Head for Learning and Performance Systems at Penn State University. Dr. Farmer is also director of Penn State's Postsecondary Technical & Community College Leadership Program, which he founded in 1997. He is currently a member of the leadership team of the College's Diversity and Community Enhancement Committee. He earned his doctorate in Vocational Industrial Education from Penn State.

James L. Burrow, Ph.D., has a background in marketing and human resource development. He works regularly with the business community and other organizations as a consultant on marketing and performance improvement strategies including the use of the Internet as an education and training resource. He recently retired from the faculty of North Carolina State University, where he served as the coordinator of the graduate Training and Development Program for over fifteen years. Dr. Burrow received degrees from the University of Northern Iowa and the University of Nebraska in marketing and marketing education.
