About the Author:

Bart Hartman is the Edward J. Sutula Endowed Chair of Accounting at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia. Professor Hartman earned his DBA from the University of Kentucky, and formerly taught at Louisiana State University. He has published numerous articles in The Accounting Review, Behavioral Research in Accounting, The Journal of Bank Research, Management Accounting, The Financial Executive, The Journal of Accounting Education, and other journals. Professor Hartman has received a Lybrand gold medal for an article in Management Accounting, was selected for the Outstanding Educator Award in 1992 by the Society of Louisiana CPAs, and was named an Outstanding Faculty Vice-President by Beta Alpha Psi in 1978-79.
