Synopsis
The exam that all future teachers in Florida need to take — The FTCE General Knowledge test — is being revised in May 2014. After that date the test will be offered year round by appointment. The general knowledge test is required for every educational specialty.

About the Authors
SANDRA LUNA MCCUNE, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus and a former Regents Professor in the Department of Elementary Education at Stephen F. Austin State University, where she received the Distinguished Professor Award. She now is a full-time author and consultant. She resides in Dripping Springs, Texas.
Jeffery S. Kaplan, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of English Language Arts Education in the College of Education and Human Performance’s School of Teaching, Learning, and Leadership at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida. He received the University of Central Florida Excellence in Professional Service Award in 2014.
