A teacher certification guide for the new edTPA portfolio-based assessment, from the name you trust—CliffsNotes.
The edTPA Assessment measures teachers' ability to develop lesson plans and adjust them to the needs of their students, to teach in the classroom, and to analyze whether their students are learning. Teacher candidates must submit a video of themselves at work in a real classroom setting in order to pass.
A growing number of states are implementing the edTPA Assessment.

About the Author
Jane R. Burstein is an instructor and supervisor of student teachers at Hofstra University and a reader for AP exams. She has been an ACT and SAT tutor for 30 years. She is the author of several other review books including those for the SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, and ASVAB. She previously taught English at Herricks High School in New Hyde Park, New York, for 36 years.
