About the Author
Robin Wasserman is the author of many books for teens and tweens, including the Chasing Yesterday series and a number of sweet, sassy titles in the Candy Apple line. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Callie Singer detests, despises, and abhors middle school, and when one of her two best friends, Max (Maxine), accidentally nominates her to run for student council president, Callie doesn’t take it seriously. Why should she when her opponent is snobby Brianna Blake, the most popular girl in school, who has been class president three years running. Even Fish, Callie’s other good friend, is helping Brianna’s campaign. But Max convinces Callie that many students want a change, so Callie begins to campaign in earnest, trying to become the candidate students want. She changes her hair, puts on lip gloss, and smiles all the time. By election day, Callie realizes that she can’t keep up the charade, and that Brianna isn’t really so bad after all.
