About the Author

For more than ten years Roger Essley has collaborated with teachers and students to develop inclusive visual tools that advance all learners. His work is informed by his own learning struggles with dyslexia. Essley has illustrated five picture books and is the author/illustrator of Reunion (Simon & Schuster, 1994). His artwork appears in museum collections, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art. He teaches classroom and professional development workshops and presents at national and regional conferences. With Scholastic. Essley has also published Visual Tools for Differentiating Reading & Writing Instruction (2008).
