Catriona is a stirring tale of love, danger, and political intrigue set amidst the stately grandeur of old Edinburgh. David Balfour is an orphaned young gentleman who has recently managed to claim his inheritance from a miserly (and murderous) uncle. Now he and his friends James Stewart and Alan Breck are implicated in a sensational killing, and David must fight to clear their names. In the process he meets the beautiful and daring Catriona MacGregor Drummond, and finds that nothing will ever be the same again. Interwoven with real-life people and events, this sequel to the immensely popular Kidnapped was considered by Robert Louis Stevenson to be one of his best works.

David Case is the founder and current president of Live Free Ministries, a ministry dedicated to restoring kingdom power and authority to spiritual leadership. Since the early 1990s, David Case has held retreats for both pastors and lay persons, helping them break through bondages and pointing them toward fulfilling the call of God on their lives. Having pastored the same church for eighteen years, Pastor Case gives other pastors the tools they need to implement the lifegiver model into a whole-church setting. Case also co-hosts a radio program and ministers internationally. It is David Case's heart to blend "the supernatural of the spiritual realm" with a very solid application into the natural realm.
Robert Louis (Balfour) Stevenson was a prolific Scottish poet and novelist in the 19th century. He was admired by many other authors, and his work includes The Black Arrow, Kidnapped, and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He died in 1894.
This sequel to R.L. Stevenson's KIDNAPPED takes David Balfour further into intrigue and danger as he seeks to solve the Appin murder and absolve himself and his friend, Alan Breck. Frederick Davidson delivers the text of this nineteenth-century novel with a thoroughly convincing variety of Scottish brogues and English accents. The convoluted syntax and florid literary style of the time, as well as numerous unfamiliar Scottish terms, can make the story difficult for the ear to follow. The authenticity of the reading intensifies these elements, but the stout-hearted listener can find enjoyment in the challenge while experiencing a Romance novel by this beloved adventure author.
