Fiddler wasn't born to be a private eye. He isn't in the game for money; he has plenty of that. He isn't trying to prove he's sexy or tough; that comes naturally. He's just trying to get off his numb butt and even the score for people who deserve a decent break.
Like Fiddler's honey-blond ex-wife, Fiora. She's a woman as at home in a boardroom as in a bikini. Unfortunately, she never felt at home with Fiddler-except in the bedroom.
Now lovely Fiora's in ugly trouble. Her lover's playing hide-and-seek with U.S. Customs. Her twin brother's working a shady deal on the dark side of Southern California's Gold Coast. And Fiddler and his ex-ladylove are about to find out why snow, ice, and silicon are three surefire ways to get yourself dead!
This is #2 in Fiddler Mystery series.

Individually and with co-author/husband Evan, Ann Maxwell has written over 60 novels and one non-fiction book. There are 30 million copies of these books in print, as well as reprints in 30 foreign languages. The novels range from science fiction to historical fiction, from romance to mystery to suspense.
In 1985 Ann and Evan (as A. E. Maxwell) collaborated to write, Just Another Day in Paradise, the first A. E. Maxwell crime novel featuring a couple called Fiddler and Fiora. The second, The Frog and the Scorpion, received a creative writing award from the University of California. The fourth book in the series, Just Enough Light to Kill, was named by Time magazine as one of the best crime novels of 1988.
Ann and Evan (writing as Ann Maxwell) have published four suspense novels, the most recent of which is Shadows and Silk. These novels appeared on nation-wide bestseller lists.
In 1982, Ann began publishing romances as Elizabeth Lowell. Under that name she has received numerous professional awards in the romance field, including a Lifetime Achievement award from the Romance Writers of America (1994). Since July of 1992, she has had 30 novels on the New York Times list. Her most recent book is Blue Smoke and Murder.
"A. E. Maxwell wrote one of the smartest, most consistent PI series in recent memory. Big plots, great villains, and a kickass private eye with plenty of humanity. The toughness of Robert B. Parker's early Spenser novels blended with the wry humor and scope of Ross Thomas. Wholly original, endlessly entertaining. The books of A. E. Maxwell are a forgotten treasure." --Tim Maleeny, best-selling author of Greasing the Pinata
"Maxwell is good, really good, able to create believable, engaging, and original characters and set them plausibly into a story of nonstop suspense." --Chicago Sun-Times
"The writing is lean and restrained, and Fiddler... gives Travis McGee a real run for his money." --Los Angeles Times
