Shows caregivers how to spot ADD, find professional help, evaluate medical and behavioral treatments, and participate in therapy

Moss, a faculty member of the UCLA Medical School, offers a much-needed addition to the small body of literature pertaining to Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), this one intended specifically for parents and teachers. "The term disorder," he cautions, "can connote a more serious pathological problem." After discussing the characteristics of ADD and how it is diagnosed, the book is broadly organized by age group, including a chapter on ADD in adults. Moss utilizes case studies to illustrate the role of the physician, the parents, the schools, and the teacher in treating this problem. The final chapter gives suggestions for finding help. An extensive bibliography and a glossary add to the value of this useful volume. Highly recommended.
