9780553560527: Moonlight, Madness and Magic: A Novel
Over three hundred years ago, Rachel Dobbs cursed the bloodline of her lover, Jonathan Nightingale, whose testimony condemned her as a witch. Only a journal and a golden locket hold the key to the spell—and in these breathtaking stories of danger and desire, three of romance’s bestselling and beloved authors unlock one family’s legacy of secret perils hiding within the sweetest passions....

Moonlight by Suzanne Forster
1785. Amidst rumors of a dangerous wolf on the loose, healer Katherine Downing finds herself drawn into the seductive embrace of the mysterious heir to Cloud Castle. Michael Nightingale roams the hills at night alone, tormented by the fierce magnetism that pulls him toward Katherine. For he knows the potent forces that transform him into something monstrous can ensnare her soul forever with forbidden passion....

Madness by Olivia Rupprecht
1872. There was no medical reason for beautiful Annabelle Rawlings’s sudden blindness. Nor can Dr. Heath Nightingale explain his sudden, overwhelming desire for the spirited woman. But ominous visions threaten to overtake him, urging him to succumb to a dark hunger that drives him into the night—and endangers his newfound love....

Magic by Charlotte Hughes
1993. When Rusty Padget is called to help the ailing child of politician Peyton Nightingale, she is confronted by an evil greater than any she’s ever known—and possessed by a passion that quickly blazes between her and Peyton. Her extraordinary talents can save Peyton’s son, but only an impossible sacrifice can end a legacy of heartbreak that could keep her and Peyton apart—for eternity....

From Publishers Weekly:
Three skillful romance novelists team up in these interconnected novellas, creating a beguiling mix of passion and the occult. Before accused witch Rachael Dobbs is burned at the stake in 1690, she hurls a malevolent curse at her lover, Jonathan Nightingale, who betrayed her. Each of his offspring shall be "as the living dead" until redeemed by the sacrifice of a virtuous woman. The consequences of the curse are first seen in Forster's ( Child Bride ) novella, Moonlight , set in 1785, when werewolf Michael Nightingale meets virginal healer Kit Downing, whose sacrifice to free the first of the demon/lovers is minutely detailed, complete with sighs and shudders. In Madness, Hughes ( Too Many Husbands ) follows the luckless Nightingales into the late 19th century when Dr. Heath Nightingale's creeping vampirism requires another virgin--this time blind Annabelle Rawlings-- to be ravished. Rupprecht ( Bad Boy of New Orleans ) closes the cycle in Magic , set in the present, when would-be senator Peyton Nightingale needs the unique skills of contemporary witch Rusty Padget to heal his mysteriously ailing son. Nicely blending witchcraft, time travel and exorcism, the authors flesh out the conventions of the genre to produce an engaging read.
