About the Author

Author Edward G. Schultz (Author Ed) to date has written three novels, a book of Christmas short-stories, and two books of light poetry. His first two novels are based on historical facts. The third novel is all fiction, about a scoundrel of the most depraved sort. Ed's Christmas stories are geared towards adults only, not because of obscene language, but only because plots are too mature for children. Ed's two books of light poetry contain lines of humor, satire, light-hearted philosophy and a few are dramatic. More information is available at authoredsbooks.com
Ed will soon release a novel about a man with a late vocation to the priesthood, and his troubles before and after his ordination.

From the Back Cover

This novel is loosely based on the immigration of the author's great-grandparents from Germany in 1859. It tells the story of a young mother whose marriage is "arranged" to an older, but devoted man. Soon after the birth of her son, Elizabeth and her husband depart Germany. Then soon after their arrival in the United States, Elizabeth's husband Sebastian, enlists in the Civil War to obtain a bounty, which he believes will improve their lives after the war. But Elizabeth's husband does not return from the war. Now the still young and beautiful Elizabeth must provide for two children, including one born after Sebastian's departure. Elizabeth is ambitious and enterprising and soon builds a very successful business. But another man enters her life. He is handsome and suave, a man of the world. But is he the man that Elizabeth believes he is, or is he the scoundrel that others say he is? The plot has many facets which the reader will enjoy.
