Sexting is the act of sending nude or partially nude photos or sexual explicit messages via cell phone text messaging. It is a practice that is becoming increasingly popular among teens in the United States.More than two-dozen teens in at least six states have been investigated for sending nude images of themselves or someone else through text messaging. Currently it is a felony for one minor to transmit sexually explicit images to another minor.In Pennsylvania, six teens were charged with child pornography. Three girls aged 14 and 15 sent partially nude images of themselves to three teen boys aged 16 and 17.In Virginia, after finding nude pictures on two boys’ cell phones, the school liaison turned the 15 and 18-year-old boys in to the police.
