Synopsis
We have been living in a world where having a college degree is an expectation of employment for most positions. As a high school graduate without a college degree, have you felt that your outlook on employment and earning potential has been grim? Do you have a passion for something but don't want to go through the traditional route of education? Do you have to work to support yourself and funds for school are limited? I am happy to report that the world is once again in a period of change. In 2016, 40% of companies globally reported talent shortages. More employers than ever are turning to training and development to address the gaps. In fact, the Chairman and CEO of Manpower Group, Jonas Prising, has been quoted saying, "We have seen a marked rise in the number of businesses focusing on training and development to fill the talent gaps. We expect the number to grow. That is why we support companies and individuals to nurture learnability - the desire and ability to learn new skills to be employable for the long-term." About the Author
Bobi Siembieda is a gardening enthusiast. She loves to get her hands dirty while planting, nurturing and seeing a new plant, tree, or shrub take on a life of its own. There is no coincidence that she enjoys this so much. She is passionate about bringing life, energy, and positive change to everything she touches. She spends her free time enjoying her family and working with a local organization providing mentoring services to victims of Domestic Violence and Homelessness while helping them reclaim their lives through education.
