The Invitation is a manifesto for women to accept and cherish their bodies, especially the usually ignored parts, and to open to fully embodied sensuality. It begins a conversation on touch, relaxation, strengthening, nourishing and nurturing the whole self. The Invitation introduces the detailed anatomy of the greater vulvar and vaginal region. The author looks at how our intimate parts rest in the pelvic bowl, which rests in the body, which is infused with blood and all the good and bad materials circulating therein. How our bodies live harnessed to our thoughts, inextricably tied to our environment. By caring for the often ignored or rejected parts, we return to wholeness. Daily Love for the Intimate Self is a tenderness, and a reverence for the miracle of your being.  Beautifully illustrated by Ouvra, with layout by Katrina Luong.

From the Author:
This is a delicate book, born from personal inquiry. When I wrote my last book, Indivisible, I was trying to understand separation and violence in the culture, and how the things we exclude or hide from ultimately control us. The Invitation extends this inquiry into our internal workings: female sensuality and sexuality. It's a slim, illustrated volume that calls for caring for the self, beginning with the usually shamed or neglected parts.
My mom died early, and I was raised by my dad to appreciate and value what society would call masculine traits more than feminine ones. The codicil to this is that, as I bore my own children and grew into adulthood, I felt myself longing for knowing the ways of women, to understand my body more, to release confusion and shame around sensuality and sexuality, to take the time to care for myself in the midst of career and family. From this longing, I began to integrate sensuality into my yoga and meditation practice, add plant medicines to my personal care routine, and learn to see myself as nature, never separate. I took coursework in sensuality and awareness, and talked to dozens fo healers from many traditions. This process even prompted a line of women's intimate skincare! With this book, digestible and rich, I am passing on the healing knowledge that has been given to me.
After the manuscript was complete, I went to find a person who could illustrate it, make it scientifically accurate, but retain the sense of magic, and that person was a vaginal aura portraitist on the other side of the world: Ouvra. I found her through Instagram. There's an interview with her on my blog, she's quite a force.
The book has some poetry to it, as does Love in the Face of Everything, and some investigation into how our own development related to social action and culture change, as does Bending the Bow.
About the Author:
Christine is a six-time founder and CEO, an author, yogi, purposeful teacher and speaker, a mom of four, and a grandmother. With her current endeavor, Rosebud Woman, she is changing the conversation about women, women's bodies, self-care and power. She is the co-founder and director of New Earth Mandala, a meditation center and farm in Hawaii.

Christine has been teaching, studying and writing on yoga and consciousness since 2000, with an emphasis on bringing yoga into daily life and human systems. Her books include Indivisible, Bending the Bow, The Invitation, Love in the Face of Everything and the upcoming 9 Gifts.

Her prior work includes 20 years of starting technology companies, with multiple $100M+ exits. She is a mentor to many young businesses and nonprofits, and has been a futurist and innovation advisor for global companies, such as Estee Lauder and Panasonic. She curated and led 14 TEDxSanFrancisco events, and continues to convene gatherings around the world.

She is a devotional singer, an enthusiastic adventurer, and a science nerd who likes plant medicine, cryptocurrency and biohacking. Her social service work is focused on yoga in action: women's equity, restorative justice and internet freedom. She serves on the board of the GRIP training institute, working in the California State Prisons with life-eligible inmates on victim offender communications. Christine has been described as "a true force of nature", combining "the best of the entrepreneurial, can-do spirit along with human-centered thinking."
