Synopsis
Makes the fundamentals of theory of computation accessible to the current generation of undergraduate computer science students. Based on material developed over the course of twenty years of teaching Formal Languages at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, Utah. The key results of the theory of computing are covered with numerous examples, diagrams, and even working Python programs, while at the same time achieving a measure of rigor without an overabundance of mathematical formalism. Formal proofs appear infrequently, but constructive arguments abound. Illuminates the fundamentals of computing for as large an audience as possible.
