Hardback. Condition: Fair. Please note that this is a heavy item and may require extra postage for international shipping.; Spine of Volume 1 torn aprox. 12 inches down right-hand side but still partially attached, likewise top left of spine has 4 inch tear, top of spine also partially torn away, also 3 inch tear to bottom of spine, Volume 2 spine has aprox. 3.5 inch long tear down top right hand side, also a 4 inch tear to left hand side of spine, but like Volume I binding is tight with no loose pages or previous owner's markings; slipcase integral and undamaged apart from label missing from rear; in spite of damage to the spines the binding is tight on both volumes, no loose pages, no previous owner's markings, fore edges speckled with an (aprox) 1.5 inch thin felt pen mark, likewise fore edges to Volume ii have a felt pen mark in the shape of the letter S; ; 17 x 11 inches. It faithfully reproduces Johnson's monumental work in its entirety, presenting it in a format that closely mimics the original publication. VERY GOOD+ in a VERY GOOD slip case which has very light wear. It includes both the reproduction of *The Plan of the Dictionary,* which was originally printed in 1747 and also supplementary essays on the genesis and lexicographic achievement of Johnson's Dictionary by Dr. J.
