About the Author:
Amarjit Kaur was born in Malaysia and was formerly Associate Professor of History at the Universtiy of Malaya. Currently, she is Professor of Economic History at the School of Economic Studies of the University of New England in Australia, where she continues to publish and lecture on Malaysia. She is also the President of the Malaysia Society of Australia.
