Book Description Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Jensen, Tony. TROUT OF THE TONGARIRO. 8vo illus. Wellington, Sydney, London: A.H. & A.W Reed. xv + 202 p. 1974 1st Ed. ISBN: 0 589 00818 7. Hardcover with DJ. [Cat. 2017] 17-0133 z. ¿Comprehensive work on the most famous trout stream in New Zealand. I first fished the Tongariro in 1975 at the start of my yearly trips to NZ. The big changes came after this book¿s publication, when the conventional fishing of swinging flies with sinking lines moving downstream was overtaken by upstream fisherman using floating lines with bobbers or indicators and weighted nymphs. The conflicts were acrimonious and frequent. I stopped fishing the river in the mid -1980¿s. The river still has exceptional fishing for both rainbow trout & some very large brown trout. Fine in taped Very Good DJ. $15. Seller Inventory # 6761421
