About the Author

Adele Brodkin, Ph.D., is Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at UMDNJ the N. J. Medical School, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Faculty Member for the Institute of Infant Mental Health, and Senior Child Development Consultant for Scholastic, Inc. A licensed psychologist, Adele spent 12 years as an elementary school psychologist in New Jersey schools. She has published widely in professional journals and the popular press and is a distinguished speaker.
