She's been an editor of an educational research and development magazine, contributing editor and columnist for Instructor magazine, a consultant and freelance writer for numerous educational publications, and a writing instructor. Ms. Shalaway, currently a junior high and high school teacher, resides in West Virginia with her husband, Scott, and daughters, Nora and Emma.
