In this one, seventh-grader Jackie desperately wants to be asked to join a club at school, but assumes she is being excluded because she doesn't act mature enough. In an effort to remedy this situation, Jackie and best friend Natalie spend as much time as possible observing and emulating Jackie's older sister, pretty and popular Sharon. From here the scenerio is predictable and the situations exaggerated as Jackie and Sharon work through a series of misunderstandings that lead first to all-out declared war and finally to reconciliation and the realization that they can, in fact, be friends. The message here is not an original one, but the story moves well, and the motives, if not always the actions, are believable.
