Gr. 1^-2, younger for reading aloud. Bernardo the bull learns to hate red when transported to his new farm in a small red truck. Ever after, he attacks everything red: geraniums, apples, kerchiefs, and, finally, a fire truck. He totals the truck, shakes up the firefighters, and ends up with a headache and a prescription reading, "Keep this bull away from RED!" And as soon as the townsfolk plant only yellow apples and blue flowers and the fire trucks are painted green, everyone lives happily ever after. This spunky beginning reader combines a child-pleasing story with equally engaging illustrations.
