Hans Wilhem has written more than two hundred children’s books, which have sold over 35 million copies. He lives in Weston, Connecticut with his wife.
PreSchool-Grade 1-- As in Bunny Trouble (Scholastic, 1985), the bunnies in this sequel should have real kid appeal. Ralph bungles his babysitting responsibilities by letting baby bunny sister crawl away into tall, fox-infested grass while he blithely paints Easter eggs. Ralph comes up with the solution to find her--in the nick of time--and "From then on, Ralph watched his favorite sister very carefully." Pastels dominate, appropriate for the Easter theme of the story. It is didactic, but gently so, and if the writing isn't masterful, the cartoon-like illustrations and the holiday link will make this a likely choice. --Lee Bock, Brown County Public Libraries, Green Bay, Wis.
