Items related to An Act of Courage (Matthew Hervey, Book 7)
Synopsis
The seventh novel in the acclaimed and bestselling Matthew Hervey series finds Hervey alone and a prisoner in the fortress of Badajos on the Spanish border.
While Hervey – taken captive in the final pages of The Sabre’s Edge – plans his escape from the Spanish, his memories turn to 1812 when, as a young cornet, he was part of Wellington’s victorious army as it pushed its way north through Spain towards the Pyrenees. But first the British had to storm the fortress where he is imprisoned now: Badajos – a fortress of huge strategic importance – where French resistance was at its most fierce and most bloody.
Both The Sabre’s Edge and Rumours of War were Sunday Times bestsellers in hardcover.

Paperback. Condition: Very Good. This title is set in Badajoz; and it is Christmas of 1826. Matthew Hervey of the 6th Light Dragoons is a prisoner of the Spanish, incarcerated in the infamous fortress of Badajoz. As he plans his escape, his thoughts return to the year 1812 when he was a cornet in Wellington's Peninsula Army. He and the Sixth had survived Corunna to endure three more years of brutal fighting that would culminate in one of the most vital and vicious confrontations of the campaign - the siege of Badajoz. While Hervey paces his prison cell, and re-lives the bloodshed of battles past, friends from expected quarters rush to his aid. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged. Seller Inventory # GOR001431780
