Synopsis
Mike Stafford used to apprehend shoplifters for a department store in Oro Beach and thought it would be easy to transfer those skills into a booming P.I. practice.
Well, business wasn’t exactly booming until it, well, boomed…literally.
Tough-guy Mike soon learns that he can’t solve his first—and if he isn’t careful, only—case without the help of Roz Reed, the wisecracking manager of the office he rents from a prominent attorney.
From the moment they met, Mike and Roz have been at one another’s throats. Now that they’ve joined forces, there’s a cast of characters who are really at their throats.
If they can make it through this case alive, maybe they can get back to shooting barbs instead of bullets.

About the Author
David Dial grew up in a California town much like Oro Beach. He earned his undergraduate degree in creative writing from California State University at Long Beach and has served as the general coordinator for a statewide satellite of Mystery Writers of America. He currently writes full-time in Arizone. Five Finger Discount marks the debut of the Mike Stafford and Roz Reed series.
