Twelve-year-old Heather Jean, desecrates the grave of Maggie Sue, who died in 1803. Their spirits merge, taking Heather Jean back to the frontier days when Maggie Sue was twelve years old. It happens in the blink of an eye and one clang of her Nana's dinner bell. She lives for months as Maggie Sue, doesn't remember her real life, but has visions of the present that she doesn't understand, and a tugging inside that keeps her upset. Her parents are confused by the changes in Maggie Sue as the two spirits fight for dominance.

Betty Casbeer Carroll earned a B.A. degree in Liberal Arts (History major) from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Betty worked in Ohio for twenty-eight years and became interested in its rich history, especially the area near Portsmouth in Scioto County. Betty now lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
