How I Cured My Myopia is an innovative book in the field of visual rehabilitation and it is completely different from everything ever published before. Indeed, David De Angelis proposes extremely efficacious system regarding prevention and gradual treatment of refractive errors (myopia and hyperopia). De Angelis’ system is different from the Bates’ one (ocular gymnastic) since it is based on completely innovative scientific studies which have been carried out in the last fifty years (retinal defocus). The system’s efficacy comes from the fact that it directly intervenes over the causes which generate myopia onset and development (overaccommmodative/near-point stress). Ocular refractive capability—when adequately stimulated by the exercises that are proposed in his book—leads to gradual strengthening of one’s focusing capability with consequent gradual decreasing of his refractive error. The book is documented with a huge scientific bibliography (as reference). It is addressed both to the scholars in the field and to everyone who would like to undertake a way of cure which overcomes simple wearing glasses, contact lenses and refractive surgery.

David De Angelis lives in Rome. He has written How I Cured My Myopia, basing it over his personal experience, studying, over the scientific research on retinal defocus as well as over his own success in treating and recovering from his initial refractive error-myopia. He wanted to make his own experience become public and set out the basis for a new direction of visual re-education.
