Grade 3-6-- Gifted and talented Murphy of Eyeballs for Breakfast (Minstrel, 1990) becomes athletic Murphy in this slim tale of basketball competition. He tries out for and makes an advanced team, and then tries to win his teammates' approval. When a new sponsor is needed, Murphy, sensing an opportunity for gain, finds one who is willing: an undertaker.
