"Rock Collection, City-Style" teaches grouping and classification; "Fade Out" investigates how sunlight affects colors; "Banana Cooker" uses heat and light to ripen fruit; "The Great Soap Race" compares how long different brands of soaps last. Entries include materials needed, the procedure, an explanation of the results, and a "Something More" section that adds variations to the projects and encourages young scientists to be creative in their explorations. Illustrated with appealing black-and-white drawings, the book is appropriate for students to use on their own (with adult supervision) or for parents to use with younger children.
